FCRC Children's Ministries (ages 0 - Grade 6)
We offer the following ministry activities for children, ages 0 through Grade 6:
- Nursery (infants and toddlers)
- Wee Worship (2 year olds)
- Children's Worship (3-5 year olds)
- Sunday School (Grades K thru 6)
- Cadets [our Boys' Club] (Grades 1 thru 7)
- GEMS [our Girls' Club] (Grades 2 thru 8)
- Vacation Bible School
A nursery is provided during every worship service for both infants and for toddlers. There is a check-in point to ensure security and to allow for proper instructions to be communicated. For a floor plan of the church, showing where the nursery is located, please click here.
Wee Worship
Wee Worship is a special worship program provided for 2 year olds. The children meet in an area specifically designated for them (rooms 9 & 10 -- click here to see a floor plan of the church). The children are led in worship by an experienced staff through story time, prayer, singing, and snacks.
Children's Worship
Children, aged 3-5 years old (and not yet in Kindergarten), go into the morning worship service with their families and then leave at the designated time, during the service, for Children's Worship. They meet in classrooms 13 - 16 (click here to see a floor plan of the church) that are set up for their worship needs. Children are led by trained staff who worship God with them as they give an offering, sing songs, pray together, share a Bible story, and do a related craft activity. Because little people are eager to know more about Jesus, teaching them and watching their faith grow is exciting!
Sunday School (Children's Educational Hour)
Sunday School is for grades K through 6 and meets on Sunday mornings, September through April, following the 9:30 am worship service. The purpose is to teach the youth of the church the basic truths of the Bible and help them apply Biblical truths to their lives.
Cadets (Boys' Club) -- Grades 1 - 7
The boys' club, which is called Cadets at Friendship CRC, meets at Friendship Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Boys in grades 1 & 2 are in the Jr. Cadet program with Bible Lesson and Merit Badge work designed for their age group. Boys in grades 3 to 7 (and up) are in the Recruit-Pathfinder-Builder group. This group also has Bible Lessons and Merit Badge work designed to help them grow spiritually in all areas of life by providing Christian men who are committed to interacting with the specifically designed material, structure, and program to implement the goal of Cadeting. The boys will enjoy campouts, canoeing, annual father/son events and other club activities which will give them skills to enjoy God’s creation. GEMS -- Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior (Girls' Club) -- Grades 2 - 8
GEMS Girls' club at Friendship CRC meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Girls in grades 2-8 enjoy some singing, Bible studies, earning badges, and making crafts. We begin the night with some group activity and singing. Their Bible study and craft work is led by two counselors in small groups, which are divided by grade. GEMS girls have fun learning more about God and building friendships that grow year after year. As a group, we enjoy various outings, service projects, and sleepovers together. Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a community ministry offered in the summer. All the children of Friendship CRC and the community children are invited for the opportunity to learn about God and about walking in the Christian way through songs, stories, crafts, and fun activities.
