Donations

Friendship CRC is exploring the idea of providing an on-line donation page, but at this time, if you would like to donate "on-line" we suggest using your bank's on-line bill pay system.

It's easy to set up.  Here is what we suggest:
  • Some systems allow you to type in the phone number and look up the "business".  Our phone number is 616.877.4144.
  • The address that the checks should be sent to is:
Friendship Christian Reformed Church
Attn:  Donations
190 100th Street S.E.
Byron Center, MI  49315
  • For your account number, put in your envelope number.  This is important if you would like to receive a year-end contributions statement.  (If you do not have an envelope number or don't know your envelope number please contact the church bookkeeper).
  • In the memo or note section, type in the fund or funds that you would like your donation to go towards.  Any donations received that do not have a fund specified will be allocated to the General Fund.
  • You can set up a recurring payment (have your tithe automatically sent to church once a month) or just a one time payment.
  • Here are the primary funds at Friendship Christian Reformed Church:

GENERAL FUND -- Each calendar year, Friendship CRC develops a General Fund budget to fund our operating expenses. The General Fund includes budgets for staffing, office expenses, ministry shares (to support denominational ministries), facilities, and church life & fellowship. It also includes supplemental payments to the Christian Education fund. the Capital Improvements fund, the Information Systems fund, and the Debt Reduction fund.  Friendship CRC members are asked to freely give the amount they can give to support the operating needs of our church based on their knowledge of the church’s needs and their own individual financial ability to give. We ask that this giving be your number one priority in your tithing ministry.  This is the only fund that provides funds for all areas of need:  operations, missions, ministries, Christian education, and debt reduction.

DEBT REDUCTION (Building Fund) -- Each Friendship CRC member is asked to submit a three-year pledge ("Moving Forward In Faith" pledges) for giving towards the debt reduction of the church. In 1987, the church purchased its first building; this mortgage was paid in full in 1995. In 1998, the church moved to our current building. The mortgage for this new building was paid in full in 2007. In 2007, we completed a major addition to the church for our ministry activities. The money pledged for the “Moving Forward in Faith” campaign will be used to pay off our mortgage for this addition as soon as possible. Each member is asked to pledge an amount based on the faithfulness that God has blessed you with.

MISSIONS (Faith Promise) -- The Friendship CRC Outreach & Missions Team, each year, puts together a list of missionaries and ministries that our church will support through the Faith Promise giving. The Faith Promise giving supports global, national, and local missions, missionairies, and organizations. As God blesses you faithfully, we ask that you give in faith for these causes.  You can view information from our missionaries on the missionaries page.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION -- Friendship CRC provides families with students in a Christian day school, grades K-12, with tuition assistance.  The Christian Education fund is used for this purpose.

BENEVOLENCE -- Through our Pastoral Deacons, benevolence funds are available to help those who have a special need.
It all belongs to God!

I have no need of a bull from your stall
or of goats from your pens,
for every animal of the forest is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know every bird in the mountains,
and the creatures of the field are mine.
Psalm 50:9-11

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly
will also reap sparingly,
and whoever sows generously
will also reap generously.
Each man should give what he has decided
in his heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:6–7

If I give all I possess to the poor
and surrender my body to the flames,
but have not love, I gain nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:3
