High School Youth Ministry (Grades 9-12)

Middle School Youth Ministry (Grades 7-8)

Cadets (Boys' Club) -- Grades 1 - 7
The boys' club, which is called Cadets at Friendship CRC, meets at Friendship Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  Boys in grades 1 & 2 are in the Jr. Cadet program with Bible Lesson and Merit Badge work designed for their age group.  Boys in grades 3 to 7 (and up) are in the Recruit-Pathfinder-Builder group. This group also has Bible Lessons and Merit Badge work designed to help them grow spiritually in all areas of life by providing Christian men who are committed to interacting with the specifically designed material, structure, and program to implement the goal of Cadeting.  The boys will enjoy campouts, canoeing, annual father/son events and other club activities which will give them skills to enjoy God’s creation. To learn more about the Calvinist Cadet Corps (of which the Friendship program is part of), you can check their website.

Ground Zero (Catechism) -- grades 9-12
This group meets at 10:50 am every Sunday in the LOFT during the school year. Over the course of four years each youth will study the primary confessions of our church -- the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dort. In addition we will study the particular "accent' of the Reformed faith, seeking to understand our commonalities and differences with other Christian and non-Christian faiths.

GEMS -- Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior (Girls' Club) -- Grades 2 - 8
GEMS Girls' club at Friendship CRC meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.  Girls in grades 2-8 enjoy some singing, Bible studies, earning badges, and making crafts.  We begin the night with some group activity and singing.  Their Bible study and craft work is led by two counselors in small groups, which are divided by grade.  GEMS girls have fun learning more about God and building friendships that grow year after year.  As a group, we enjoy various outings, service projects, and sleepovers together.  To learn more about the international GEMS program (of which the Friendship program is part of), you can check their website.

Sunday School (Sunday Educational Hour) -- Grades K-8
Sunday School is for grades K through 8 and meets on Sunday mornings, September through April, following the 9:30 am worship service.  The purpose is to teach the youth of the church the basic truths of the Bible and help them apply Biblical truths to their lives.
VISION
We desire to provide a place and environment for faith formation which is Biblically grounded and doctrinally sound. We desire to develop and nurture a Christ -centered mind set which produces a desire to study and live out God’s Word. We seek to instill a deep sense of God’s truth and encourage the teens to share their faith by what they say and how they live out their daily lives. Led by the Holy Spirit, teens will experience an authentic time of worship which encourages fellowship, biblical studies, consistent prayer and spiritual growth.

MISSION
We seek to bring the young people together in a life of faith, action and fellowship. With a Christ centered love and understanding we will address spiritual, emotional, and social needs unique to the youth of today. Leaders will provide a nurturing environment and meet regularly to develop a network of Christian relationships. Opportunities will be provided to the youth to serve Christ through mission work and service. This will help them understand and live out role as a disciples of Christ. Through worship, discussion, and small groups teens will be challenged to explore a deeper understanding of what they believe. With the help of the Holy Spirit, leaders will equip the teens with the tools needed to mature in their faith, provide space for them to establish ownership of their faith and guide in the direction of a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
